The competition is open to everyone studying or working in STEM subjects (life sciences, technology, engineering, geosciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry and social sciences). Participants who passed the preliminary stage of the competition, will be joined in the semi-final round by successful applicants taking part in Seoul on Friday, April 12, 2019.
FameLab is a global competition to find and support the world’s most talented new science communicators. Participants have three minutes to win over the judges and audience with a scientific talk that excels for its content, clarity and charisma.
Each year, the British Council runs national FameLab competitions in around 30 countries. The winners of the national competitions travel to Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK for the FameLab International Final in June. Through the regional and national preliminary competitions, the FameLab Korea 2019 will choose the top 10 Korean representatives who will advance to the final stage of the competition in May.
