1. Applicable to full-time faculty members and staff members (excluding part-time faculty members, etc.).
2. When giving birth, 200,000 won is given (from the third child, 300,000 won is given).

Maternity leave system
We implement a maternity leave system, a 90-day paid protection leave, to assist in the recovery of female employees and prevent career interruptions due to childbirth.-
1. Reference: Article 56-1 of the Rules of Employment
2. Applicable to pregnant female employees
3. Details
- Support of a 90-day leave before and after childbirth (120 days in the case of multiple births). ※ 45 days or longer should be secured after birth (60 days in the case of multiple births).

• The period of maternity leave shall be based on the due date specified on a medical certificate from a medical institution, but exceptions may be acknowledged in special cases such as a concern about premature birth.
※ Maternity leave should be used continuously without division in principle. However, it may be split in the following cases: -
1. In the case that a pregnant employee has had a miscarriage‧stillbirth in the past: however, miscarriage caused by induced abortion other than the cases permitted by the Mother and Child Health Act shall be excluded. 2. In the case that a pregnant employee is 40 years or older when they apply for maternity leave 3. In the case that an employee submits a medical certificate from a medical institution showing that there is a risk of miscarriage‧stillbirth.
※ Maternity leave shall be calculated based on the calendar (holidays are included in the leave days also in the case of divided use), but shall not be used after 90 days pass from the day of birth. -
If the baby is born on a holiday without using maternity leave, maternity leave shall be granted from the next day of the birth, and even if the next day of the birth is a holiday, it shall be included in maternity leave days.

Q. When should I apply for maternity leave?
A. If you want to use a long-term leave of more than three months, you should submit the application for leave at least three weeks before the start day of the leave.
Q. I was diagnosed with a miscarriage risk early in my pregnancy. In this case, is it possible to use maternity leave in advance?
A. In the case of a risk of miscarriage and stillbirth, total leave days (90 days) may be split. However, 45 days or longer should be used continuously after the day of childbirth. (Example: 44 days before childbirth + one day of childbirth + 45 days after childbirth)

Paternity leave system
Male employees can use a 10-day paid leave as a paternity leave system when their spouse delivers their baby. Following childbirth, please take care of your spouse and share happy moments of childbirth with family members.-

- A maximum of 10 days paid leave are given
- ※ Use within 90 days from the date your spouse gave birth (can be used in splits only once).

Q. We can use a maximum of 10 days as paternity leave. If the baby is born on a weekend, is the weekend included in the leave days?
A. In the case of childbirth on weekends or holidays, you may apply based on weekdays, excluding weekends and holidays.

Miscarriage/stillbirth leave
Miscarriage/stillbirth is an emotionally and physically distressing time. However, as miscarriage/stillbirth can occur again, sufficient leave time is needed for healing both the body and mind. We support female employees who suffered from miscarriage/stillbirth overcoming the trauma and recovering their health.-

Q. I used maternity leave after pregnancy. How are leave days calculated in the case of miscarriage/stillbirth?
A. The used maternity leave is not included in the calculation. In other words, maternity leave before childbirth does not count toward leave time.
Q. Are wages paid even during miscarriage/stillbirth?
A. You will be paid. As with maternity leave, wages are paid from the workplace until the end of the initial 60 days, and the employment center pays for the remaining 30 days.

Part of responsible class hours will be exempted before and after pregnancy
The number of responsible class hours may be exempted before and after childbirth for professors who gave birth so they can maintain their health before and recover adequately after childbirth and concentrate on protecting their babies.-

- When a faculty member becomes pregnant or gives birth, mandatory class hours shall be three hours per year(professors for liberal arts courses: six hours)
